PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Hardware Engineer, KPS (sub-contractor to Lockheed Martin) Charleston, SC (11/25/13 – present)
As the Hardware Engineer, I am responsible for making technical recommendations for the GCSS-MC (Global
Command Support System-Marine Corps) system upgrade and refresh. I also implemented a wireless solution to
enable our developers and testers to access the collaboration suite through VPN. Finally, I am the on-site
engineer for all aspects dealing with Cisco networking products and services.
Data Center Support Engineer, Mission1st Group, Inc., Fort Bragg, NC (08/11 – 7/31/2013). On-site
security-cleared lead for the CX-I Network systems located in the Fort Bragg Ground Intelligence Support
Activity(GISA) data center; saving the program money. Worked with our support engineers at various sites by
checking Cisco configurations and verifying routes were active. Installed, repaired, modified, and maintained
Cisco switches, routers, and servers that made up the CX-I network. Replaced faulty SAN drives and supported
KG 175A's (cryptographic devices). Was highly valued by the GISA supervisor and staff for my work ethic.
Sr. Engineer, Barling Bay, LLC, North Charleston, SC (03/11 – 08/11). Infrastructure team lead for the
Forge.mil project at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR). Utilized vSphere Client to
maintain and update the virtual machines. As a system administrator for the Linux and Windows servers, ensured
security compliance and daily upkeep. Participated in the repair of the (DODMERB) network by designing the new
Virtual Local Area Networ (VLAN) scheme and remotely configuring their Cisco 4506 switch to include layer 3
switching, resulting in improved network stability, security, speed, and greatly enhanced the end-users
experience. Verbally commended numerous times by customers and supervisors for excellent work.

IT Signal Warrant Officer, 218th MEB S-6 Section, SCARNG, Charleston, SC (03/09 – 03/11). IT Signal
Warrant Officer responsible for maintaining the Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS), which run ESX Server
3.5, and multiple servers such as Exchange, Server 2003 Domain Controllers, Sharepoint (MOSS), Active
Directory, and the vital Command Post of the Future (CPOF) servers and repository. Maintained, at a 99%
readiness rate, which allowed our Battle Captains to conduct fully operational training twice a month and more as
needed. The network portion of the ABCS consisted of Cisco switches and ASA Firewalls. Led the team that
designed a simplified ABCS system to be run on state servers and provide enough functionality to support our athome
mission. Designed a portable ABCS using an entire simulated network using real switches and routers and
a Linux desktop to act as a satellite latency simulator, which allowed testing the system prior to field trials. Utilized
a special National Guard Bureau located at Camp Grayling, Michigan to receive over $175,000 in IT equipment at
no cost to the unit. This equipment was placed into a very extensive IT training lab and for support of the 218th in
its various missions. I retired from the service as a CW2 on March 30th, 2011.
SPAWAR DCGS-N Engineer, Eagan McAllister Associates (SAIC), North Charleston, SC (09/08-03/09).
Implemented an encrypted NTP on a Sidewinder Firewall as part of the Distributed Common Ground SystemNavy
(DCGS-N). Installed patches on all secured systems; Windows Server 2003, Red Hat Linux, and Solaris 10
(SPARC). Also ensured security compliance for all Cisco routers and switches.
Engineer III – Network Operations, Windstream Communications, Hudson, Ohio (06/06-08/08).
Maintained security for Transport Network Elements-Calix, Cisco, Netsmart, Turin, and Preside/OPC’s. Assured
access for our network elements across Windstream.

Coast Guard Quarter Master, US Coast Guard Active Duty, 1989 – 1994 Final Rank: Petty

AWARDS: Awarded the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal
